Riding my bike is something I have done for as long as I can remember. Firstly riding in the park and around the streets of my home town Dronfield. Then  when I was eight I started to attend training sessions run by North midlands Youth Squad at the Forge Valley cycle circuit in Sheffield. Wow it was fantastic riding with older kids and learning to take the corners at speed, learning to sprint and  practise races I loved it.

"I have always enjoyed riding my bike"

My first races were in the U10 category at the white Rose league, riding for North Midlands Youth Squad. By the time I was an U12 I had started to race some other races and can remember racing at York and Lichfield. As an U14 rider I was asked to join Peak Rides Cycling Club and raced for them, becoming British Schools Cycling Association U13 national champion in 2019.  On becoming an U16 in 2020  I moved to The Beeston CC Youth Team. Us a junior I moved on to the BCC Race Team. In 2022 I was second in the National Junior Hillclimb Championship. In 2023 my best result was 4th at the GP Plouay a UCI 1.1 race in Brittany, France.

I am very lucky to be coached by former Olympic medalist Bryan Steele. Bryan is a great help to a young rider such as myself, and wants to help the teams riders fulfill their potential. In 2024 I will be a U23 rider am racing for the HUUB BCC Race Team. The team have a great set up with backing from great sponsors. Looking forward to racing events such as the Lincoln GP with such a great herritage and the Cicle classic.

Becoming an elite athlete is my ultimate goal.

Cycling may be my number one passion but I'm not a one trick pony. I was the first finisher for the Derbyshire team at the British Schools Athletics Association cross country in March 2020. Just before the lock down stopped racing.

         2023 the best year yet

This year has been amazing, being competitive all year from 11th in the Junior Cicle at the beginning of the season to 4th place at the Grand Prix Plouay in late September. The results have been good and it has been great fun and hugely satisfying.  Becoming a fulltime rider is possible I feel. Got to get my A levels out of the way next year. Then looking to go abroad to try my hand.
